Therapy with me can help you develop the tools to live your life with purpose, passion, fulfillment, and spontaneity.

Want to feel like yourself again? I am here to help.

Difficult roads can be paved to reach beautiful destinations.

I work with a diverse group of individuals that want to improve their lives, change their mindsets, and become the best version of themselves. I strongly believe that anyone that wants to, can. My therapeutic approach encompasses compassion, empathy, kindness, positivity, and security.

  • If you’ve tried this on your own and haven’t seen the results you desire, you are in the right place.

  • If you have never even considered therapy until now, you are in the right place.

  • And if you just want to be better, do better, and feel better, you are most certainly in the right place.

Set Sail Therapy Heather Srncik, MSW, LCSW, therapy for anxiety, stress, perfectionism, low self-esteem, and overthinking

Hello, I’m Heather. For over 12 years, I have been guiding both individuals and couples towards a better, happier life. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in Fishers, Indiana. I completed both my Bachelor’s and Master’s and have been providing specialized therapy for individuals experiencing struggles such as anxiety, stress, insomnia, or perfectionism. I also work closely with couples to provide marriage and relationship counseling. Regardless of why you are here, know that it is my mission to help get you where you want to be.

Life can be hard. We will tackle the troubles you are facing head-on. The only way out is through, and this means that I will challenge you in ways that will allow you to not only progress but thrive. Learning about your desires, needs, strengths, and core values will guide our path toward healing. Reconnecting with yourself is ultimately the key to progress, and this is a large part of our work together.

My approach encompasses a variety of techniques based on your specific individual needs. We will work collaboratively on your goals, identify the roots of your symptoms, and develop tools to overcome your anxieties, stress, avoidance, fears, feeling stuck, or just completely lost.

With empathy and compassion at the core of my practice, I work with each client to help build on their strengths so they can finally pursue their life’s aspirations. My goal is to create an environment where you can feel heard, accepted, and understood.

  • Clients describe me as a down-to-earth and discerning therapist who speaks the honest truth with kindness. You are hard enough on yourself as it is. My practice is centered around positive therapy, meaning I remain compassionate and understanding, no matter what. Together, we will work towards paving a path for you to regain control and get back to feeling like yourself again. My practice is founded on principles of safety, acceptance, and guidance. Once we begin our work together, I can promise that you will no longer experience the feeling of being alone.

  • I dealt with crippling fear and self-doubt for decades, starting in those earliest years. As a little girl my anxiety was so bad, I found the simplest situations terrifying. I struggled to order ice cream from the ice cream truck, play with groups of kids at recess, try new things such as choir, sports, or games. By High School, I finally had the courage to join the school’s swim team. However, despite my love for swimming, I eventually quit because I was too afraid to compete in front of others.

As a young adult the fear and anxiety never really went away. Instead I became a master at avoiding the situations I feared the most. Unfortunately, this meant that I missed out on many opportunities and experiences and ended up feeling empty and lost.

Perfectionism, overthinking, and rumination filled my mind. I knew this wasn’t how I wanted to live. I knew there had to be a better way, so I sought it out.

  • I specialize in Anxiety, Panic, Stress Management, Perfectionism, Low Self-Esteem, and Couples and Marriage Counseling

I pull from a large variety of modalities and therapy techniques however my favorite modalities are Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Therapy called Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and Mindfulness-based therapies.

My why…

I love this work. Watching clients have that moment in therapy where it “clicks for them” and they see everything so differently, so clearly. They begin to feel freedom, desire to explore, motivation to try new things and start living. Take charge of their life instead of life controlling them. I find it deeply rewarding when my clients pursue dreams, receive bonuses and promotions because now they aren’t afraid. Or when they try new hobbies, make new friends, rekindle romantic relationships or strengthen family ties. Watching clients graduate therapy, leaving lighter and living a richer fuller life is profoundly enriching.

“I love seeing clients experience life in the way they always wanted, but were too afraid to.”

When I’m not working with my clients, you’ll find me exploring the great outdoors, deep in some research of the latest health and wellness information, or spending time with my family and beloved dog Ivy.

Taking the first leap takes courage. “Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen” suggests research professor and social worker Brene Brown.

If you are going through what I went through, I see you and I deeply understand your pain. I am going to help you through it.

Through my personal journey, education, and professional experience, I unraveled the toxic thought processes that I had unknowingly established throughout my life.
